Health Foundation of South Florida
The Health Foundation of South Florida is the region’s largest philanthropic organization dedicated to improving community health and advancing health equity. Its mission is to invest in and catalyze collaborations, policies, and systems change that improve health throughout South Florida, with particular attention to vulnerable and low- to moderate-income populations.
Guided by a vision in which every South Floridian has an equal opportunity to achieve optimal health and well-being, the Foundation addresses both access to healthcare and the social and economic conditions that shape health outcomes. Its areas of focus include expanding access to routine and preventive care; connecting healthcare and social-service systems; and building thriving communities through affordable housing, economic opportunity, and community wealth development.
The Foundation advances this work through strategic grantmaking, impact investing, policy advocacy, research, convening, and cross-sector partnerships. It supports safety-net providers, innovative care-delivery models, technology-enabled solutions, and community-led efforts designed to reduce persistent disparities. Initiatives such as the South Florida Anchor Alliance and Black Health Summit demonstrate its commitment to collaboration, inclusive economic growth, and racial equity.
Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded more than $151 million in grants, helping partners develop sustainable solutions that strengthen communities and improve lives across South Florida.
